Age: 20
Yes I have. It has some very good points and suggestions, but doesn't seem to come from a very Christian view point.
2. What did you learn from her? Do you feel more feminine after reading it?
I don't feel anymore feminine from reading it. In actual fact I'm the opposite of some of the things she was saying a feminine girl is!
3. Are you more of a 'princessy' type girl or a 'Tom-Boy'?
I'm definitely more of a tom-boy. I have seven brothers and live on a farm, so there wasn't much hope for me really!
4. What advice would you give girls who are not very girly but are trying to be?
Ha ha, I'm trying to figure that out myself! But I think I need to stop competing with boys (they don't like being beaten by girls!) and I'm starting to wear more dresses and pink clothes!
It would probably also help to spend time around other girls who are girly.
5. What advice would you give a girl who is too girly?
I don't know any `too girly' girls. I have come across some who are scared of bugs and little creatures or the dark, but it might just be their individual natures.
6. What have you done to become more feminine?
I suppose it's just a gradual change as I get older, things like; not playing so many rough sports (although I still enjoy some), wearing dresses or skirts and other girly clothes and letting the boys lift the heavier stuff.
7.What are your favourite and least favourite things about being a girl?
It's nice being a girl around gentleman-like boys/young men.
But sometimes boys will act like girls are inferior to them, which isn't very nice. I guess that's why sometimes I feel I have to prove myself to them.
8. What are your views on girls wearing makeup, earrings and trousers, etc.?
I don't think there's anything wrong with makeup, as long as it's not over done.
Or earrings. I don't use either, but that's just personal preference and never having needed to. I wear trousers all the time, they're much more practical for work and I don't see anything wrong with sensible ones.
9. Define 'Modesty'...
Everybody has a different idea of what is modest. I think low tops, bikinis or very short shorts are usually immodest. But I don't have a definite view of what is.
10. What do you think to wearing head coverings?
Not sure about that one. Some people think you're hair is the heads covering, and think I'd tend to agree. I wore one when I was younger because Mummy did, but I haven't for a while now.
11. Would you rather," just get married" or have a big wedding? What's
more important to you?
Probably to just have a small wedding with family and close friends. You can have a nice wedding without spending a fortune on stuff. But it will also have to depend on what my future husband thinks as well.
12. When do you think the role of a helpmeet begins?
When you get married.
13. What would you like to do when you're older?
I'm not really sure. I'll have to wait and see what God says. I do like animals, especially horses, so hopefully I'll always have some around.
14. Who has been a role model for you? (in a book, movie, real life?)
No one in particular. Although I do think highly of people like Kent Hovind and John Mackay. They sacrifice a lot of time with their families in order to do creation seminars and evangelising.
15. What top 5 things do you think should be on any girls priority list?
Not sure what kind of priority list. I think it would be different for each person, but being close to God would have to be number 1.
16. What are your opinions on Courtships, Engagements, Betrothals etc?
I've been thinking about that a fair bit recently. I think there are problems with courtship as well as dating.
With courtship it seems very difficult to get to know the person well enough without committing yourself. And breaking off courtship would be almost like breaking off an engagement.
17. What would you like?
I think it would be like having family friends at first, spending time in groups/families. Then maybe going for walks or something alone. Perhaps then going on trips/outings alone.
But I don't think we need to plan too much ahead, it'll probably work itself out when the time comes.
18. What do you think most girls do but should avoid?
No idea
19. What things have really impacted your life? Experiences, lessons you've learned, anything!
Well `God' firstly, other than that just lots of small things I guess.
The Home Service, 15+ weekend in Kent this year, and visiting the Shepherds in July!
20. What are your views on the purity balls, purity rings, Daddy/daughter dates etc.?
I don't know much about them. I can't see anything wrong with a father wanting to keep and protect his daughter until he gives her over to her husband.
21. When did you get saved?
When I was about 9
22. How many are in your family? Would you like to have a big family one day?
I have seven brothers and three sisters, all younger than me. Plus one older sister in Heaven.
I hope I'll be happy with the amount God gives me.
23. What has it been like to be the oldest in your family?
As I don't remember any different it's just usual for me.
It involves:- taking responsibility, looking after all my siblings, helping Daddy on the farm and Mummy in the house, helping home-school the little ones.
But, you tend to get more privileges like, when we were younger staying up to watch films and getting more sweets! And now, I often get first choice over things, like going to town or something. Also you get to be `Boss'!
24. Do you think education is more important than getting married and having a family?
No. God never said you should spend years in College or Uni before thinking about having a family! He said "Be fruitful and multiply" and "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing".
But on the other hand if you wanted to do a particular subject/degree for something really worthwhile, then I think that's absolutely fine.
25. Have you thought about children even choosing names for them before you thought about your husband?
Kind of. If I come across a nice name, sometimes I think I could call one of my children that. But I haven't got a list or anything. It would also depend on my husband, he might not like some names I think are really nice.
26. Name a few of your favourite Bible verses and passages...
I don't have a particular favourite, but here's some I like:-
Psalm 23
The book of Daniel
St John 1 v 1-5
Proverbs 22 v 6, 27 v 23-27
Genesis 1
